Puffy face in the morning? A 10-minute routine that helps
· 5 min read

Morning puffiness is one of the most frustrating concerns because it has nothing to do with how much effort you put into your skincare. Fluid collects in the face overnight, and it can take hours for the eyes and lower face to look like yours again.
Why it happens
Lying flat for hours lets fluid settle in the face. Salty or late dinners, alcohol, hormonal changes, allergies and short sleep all make it worse. In most cases it settles on its own through the morning - the goal of a routine is simply to speed that up and help the face look fresher sooner.
Persistent swelling that does not improve during the day, or swelling on one side only, is different: that is worth checking with a doctor.
The 10-minute routine
- Splash with cool water and cleanse gently.
- Apply massage gel across the cheeks, under the jaw and along the neck.
- Use an EMS or pulse mode on a comfortable level, moving from the centre of the face outwards and down towards the neck - the direction of natural drainage.
- Finish with a short LED mode if your device has one, then serum and moisturiser.
Small habits that make a bigger difference
Sleeping with the head slightly raised, drinking enough water during the day and keeping salty food earlier in the evening all reduce how much there is to deal with in the morning. The device routine then becomes a quick finishing step rather than a rescue mission.
A compact device such as Clione fit 2.0 works well if mornings are rushed; the Zeus line offers more modes for a fuller routine on the days you have time.
